The Treasurer reports directly to the Board of Education. The Treasurer is the chief fiscal officer of the Board of Education, the chief accountant, chief payroll officer, chief auditor and chief investment officer. The Treasurer also serves as the quasi-legal advisor to the board on matters falling under his jurisdiction. The Treasurer files monthly reports with the Board of Education on all fiscal matters The Treasurer serves as the secretary to the Board of Education and is responsible for all records produced by and received by his office.

Additionally, the Treasurer works closely with the Superintendent and his staff in preparation of the annual budget,  is a member of the negotiating team and is responsible for the procurement of liability, property and fleet insurance. The Treasurer also works closely with the Superintendent  in the procurement of health, dental and life insurance for district personnel.

Timothy W. Dettwiller, CPFO

Tim Dettwiller began as the Treasurer/CFO for Madison-Plains on May 10, 2010.  Tim comes to Madison-Plains from Springboro Schools where he served as the Treasurer/CFO for 10 years. Tim also worked for the Auditor of State of Ohio's office for 13 years.

Tim is a 1987 graduate of Wilmington College with a BA in Accounting.  Mr. Dettwiller recently received the designation of "Certified Public Finance Officer" from the National Government Finance Officers Association. This designation is given to those individuals who pass the 5 part Certified Public Finance Officer Examination. 

Tim has been married to his wife Robin for the last 24 years. They have 4 children, Tim Jr., Jimmy, Rebecca and Rachel.
