Role of the Treasurer

The Treasurer reports directly to the Board of Education. The Treasurer is the chief fiscal officer of the Board of Education, the chief accountant, chief payroll officer, chief auditor and chief investment officer. The Treasurer also serves as the quasi-legal advisor to the board on matters falling under his jurisdiction. The Treasurer files monthly reports with the Board of Education on all fiscal matters The Treasurer serves as the secretary to the Board of Education and is responsible for all records produced by and received by his office. Additionally, the Treasurer develops the annual budget in cooperation with the Superintendent and his staff, is a member of the negotiating team and is responsible for the procurement of liability, property and fleet insurance. The Treasurer also facilitates the District Insurance committee in the procurement of health, dental and life insurance for district personnel.
