Celebrating 100
Students in Amanda Cress' kindergarten class measured the school year by counting the 100th day of class. The youngsters use their creativity to represent the significance of reaching the three-digit number. See more here.
A sweet story
Lisa Weimer's third grade ELA class used a creative process to write stories about winter. The students were given a page of interesting adjectives and dropped wrapped pieces of taffy onto their papers to "choose" descriptives words to include in their "Sweet Stories". Mrs. Weimer said it was obvious sharing the writing process and reading aloud was an even better treat than having a piece of taffy at school!
New practice materials and test specs available
New practice items and related materials for students who will take state tests this year in English language arts, science and social studies may see related were posted last week online by the Ohio Department of Education.
Winter weather reminders
Canceling school or calling for a 2-hour delay is never a black-and-white issue. If the forecast calls for snow, fog or ice, district administrators, including Superintendent Tim Dettwiller test-drive the roads beginning at 4:30 a.m. and travel across as much of the district as possible before deciding to delay or close school.
Hunger Pains? No need!
