Your vote counts: Emergency operating levy on ballot Aug. 8
Superintendent Tim Dettwiller shares his guest column published in the local media here.

School starts on Aug. 21 for students in grades 1-12, but we’re laser-focused on Aug. 8 right now. That’s the day voters go to the polls to cast their ballots for the emergency operating levy the Board of Education is requesting. The 5.953 measure will generate roughly $2 million per year for the district’s General Fund.

School supply options
School supplies for the 2017-18 school year can be purchased through SchoolKidz -- a new option offered by the district -- or independently. Supply lists are now available here. The kit service is available to all families of incoming Kindergarten through 6th grade students. Any supply kit ordered by the June 23 deadline will be delivered to the student's classroom for the first day of school. Kits can be ordered at www.shopttkits.com using 43198 as the school code.
Latchkey program will not move ahead
An after-school childcare program will not be offered in the fall because pre-registration numbers could not support a viable program. The county’s Educational Services Center would have provided the program to students in Madison-Plains on district grounds if 25 or more children were registered, but just 16 were on the list after a 6-week enrollment period.
