MPAC meets in Midway
The Madison-Plains Advisory Council will meet from 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Range Township Fire Department, 13715 Main St., Midway. Superintendent Tim Dettwiller, board members and other administrators from the district will be on hand to discuss the PI Levy renewal on the Nov. 7 ballot. The meeting will be broadcast live on Facebook and community members can ask questions about the levy or other topics.
Schedule conferences quickly online
Parents can now sign-up for conferences through the district's Fast Online Scheduler. Sessions will be held Nov. 6 and Nov. 8. Those who are not able to sign up online may call the school office to schedule. It's a studied fact: the more parents are involved in a child's education, the more successful the child is likely to be. That's why parent-teacher conferences are so important.
Discovery Learning
Students in the Junior High and High School have been completing hands-on discovery learning activities and engaging in conversations about their findings providing rationale throughout various content areas.  This week, students in Mr. Rohrig's Physical Science class tested several qualities, including length of a roll, of different brands of toilet paper.  Students in Mrs. McCafferty's 7th grade Art class worked in groups and observed a variety of artworks noticing details, themes and ideas and grouped them into patterns and categories.  Click "Read More" to see pictures from both activities.
Students Return from D.C.
Students in the eighth grade had the opportunity to go on the annual Washington D.C. trip recently.  Students explored Mount Vernon and Washington D.C. visiting many monuments, museums, as well as Arlington Cemetary.  Students were accompanied by teachers Ms. Michele Hildebrandt, Ms. Stormy Hiram, Mr. Ross Deyo, and Mr. Geoffrey Stokes and several parents.  Students were able to speak with World War II veterans and various historians during their trip.  Information for next year's trip for the upcoming eighth grade class will be sent home next week.  To view pictures from the trip, click "Read More".
