Junior High School News
Students Return from D.C.
Students in the eighth grade had the opportunity to go on the annual Washington D.C. trip recently.  Students explored Mount Vernon and Washington D.C. visiting many monuments, museums, as well as Arlington Cemetary.  Students were accompanied by teachers Ms. Michele Hildebrandt, Ms. Stormy Hiram, Mr. Ross Deyo, and Mr. Geoffrey Stokes and several parents.  Students were able to speak with World War II veterans and various historians during their trip.  Information for next year's trip for the upcoming eighth grade class will be sent home next week.  To view pictures from the trip, click "Read More".
Flipping for Success
7th Grade Students in Ms. Haley Elkins' Math class performed an experiment to see if the volume of water in a bottle had any impact on the experimental probability of landing a bottle flip.  Students decided how much water they wanted in the bottle, calculated the volume, and performed 25 trials.  Finally, they compared their experimental probability to their classmates to see who had the highest relative frequency of successful flips.
Students get a visit from National Football Champion Joel Penton
Students in grades 7-12 had an amazing opportunity to listen to Joel Penton, former OSU football player, National Championship winner, author, and motivational speaker.  Joel delivered the message of commitment to our students.  The band Plain Cities also performed a couple of songs.  Plain Cities will be performing a full free concert tonight at 7 pm in the High School gym.  This is open to the public.  Those who attend will also receive a free copy of Joel's latest book.  Joel will also be here to speak about his personal experiences and his success.  Click "Read More" to view videos of Plain Cities performing at MPHS.
