MP Junior High Band Students Recognized
On November 11, four Madison-Plains Junior High students participated in the third annual OMEA District 15 Middle School Honor Band.  Nominated by their director for outstanding achievement, these students had a great day of practicing and performance with other talented 7th and 8th graders from the Columbus area.  The concert was played to a packed house at Worthington Kilbourne High School, and Madison-Plains is proud of their achevements!  The young musicians are Andrew Geyer, Jacob Krannitz, Ayden McPherson, and Kensie Null.
Annual 8th Grade D.C. Trip
General information and registration forms for the Washington, D.C. trip have been distributed to the 8th grade students.  The registration forms and first payment are due by September 20th.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Deyo, Mrs. Hildebrandt, Mr. Stokes, or Mrs. Hiram.
Bus driver's flag donated back to MP
Board of Education President Kelly Cooley accepts a State of Ohio flag from Valerie Emrich. Mrs. Emrich is the daughter of Joe Emrich. Joe drove a Madison-Plains bus for many years and proudly flew the flag in front of his home in Madison County. Mrs. Emrich donated the flag so it could be flown in front of one the Madison-Plains school buildings.
Discovery Learning
Students in the Junior High and High School have been completing hands-on discovery learning activities and engaging in conversations about their findings providing rationale throughout various content areas.  This week, students in Mr. Rohrig's Physical Science class tested several qualities, including length of a roll, of different brands of toilet paper.  Students in Mrs. McCafferty's 7th grade Art class worked in groups and observed a variety of artworks noticing details, themes and ideas and grouped them into patterns and categories.  Click "Read More" to see pictures from both activities.
