Warning to Parents
Dear Madison-Plains Parents and Guardians,

Good afternoon!  As you know, the health, safety, and well-being of our students is our top priority.  With that in mind, I want to share with you that late last night we learned that we have students who have been investigating a dangerous on-line trend known as the “Momo Challenge.”  We have been looking into and learning about this during the day today. The challenge is similar to some previous on-line challenges that have been popular in that it challenges children to do things that are dangerous.  The challenges often increase in severity with tragic consequences being the end result. Additionally, it is important to know that children are being exposed to this through on-line platforms that would probably be presumed to be safe.

As of right now, we have no knowledge that any of our students have accepted any of the challenges, but we do know we have had students who have been investigating this on-line phenomenon.

As a district, it is important to us that we communicate with you, our parents and guardians, so that you can learn about this and have appropriate conversations with your children to help keep them safe.  To that end, we are sending a flyer home today with all of our students, district wide, about this, and below, here are some links to help our parents and guardians learn about this dangerous phenomenon.

Here is a brochure they provide specifically about the "Momo Challenge:"

Again, the safety of your children and our students is our number one priority.  Our intent is to inform you and to raise awareness around this safety concern. We appreciate your time and attention to this matter.

Thank you.

Have a good weekend!

Sincerely,

Mr. Chad Eisler, Superintendent
