Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we come to the end of the school year, students who do not have money on their lunch account, or have money with them, will be given the alternate meal, as we can no longer accept charges on student accounts at this late date in the school year. The alternate meal that is provided (at no charge) consists of a peanut butter or cheese sandwich, a fruit or vegetable, and a milk. We would never allow a child to go hungry. We are simply trying, as the school year comes to a close, to bring our lunch accounts current, as we have to balance our books, too. This is a standard practice in May.
Also of note, please be aware this does not affect students who receive free lunches. It only applies to students who do not receive free lunch.
