2019 03 20 Statewide Tornado Drill at MPDear Parents and Guardians,
As you may know, March 17-23, 2019, is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Ohio, and the state encourages all
Ohioans to learn what to do in the event that there would be severe weather,
such as tornadoes. As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, Ohio
annually conducts a statewide tornado drill, generally on the Wednesday of that
week, and the state encourages schools, businesses, and families to participate
in the drill in order to practice their procedures in the event that this type
of unwanted weather were to occur.
Because student and staff safety is our top priority, the
Madison-Plains Local School District participated in the statewide drill this
morning at 9:50 a.m. The drill went
smoothly, but we did discover that there are a couple of tweaks we would like
to make to our procedures, and we will work to do that! That is why we do the drills!
Here is a link to the Ohio.gov website that speaks to Ohio’s Severe Weather Awareness Week.

Again, student and staff safety is at the top of our
priority list. It is important that we
review our procedures for these events.
Thank you for your support!
Have a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Mr. Chad Eisler, Superintendent
Madison-Plains Local Schools
