Dear MPLSD Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
 
Student and staff safety is our top priority.  As such, I am sending this communication to let you know that yesterday afternoon, a staff member brought a concern regarding a potential threat toward a student to the building-level administrators at the K-6 building.  The matter was investigated immediately, and there was no evidence to support that a threat had been made.

Today our team has continued investigating this matter.  Through the investigation that has been done today, and up to this point, there is still no evidence to support that a threat exists or was made. 

This matter has been reported to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and our efforts to get to the bottom of this matter will continue.  

Please know I will update you as necessary if any significant developments or changes that need to be communicated regarding this matter occur.  

Again, student and staff safety is our top priority.
