Dear MPLSD Parents, Guardians, Students, and Staff,

Greetings!  I hope this finds you healthy and well!

The purpose of this communication is to let our parents, guardians, students, and staff know the Madison-Plains Local School District intends to re-open on Monday, January 11, 2021, in our 50% hybrid model of instructional delivery.  As has been communicated before regarding this model, this means that students will attend school either on Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday.  Wednesdays will be a day of virtual learning for students.

Though Madison County Public Health (MCPH) is extending their current advisory through January 31, 2021, and also extending their order that school districts that choose to open must maintain six feet of social distancing for students and staff while students are in school, it is very important to us as a District that we work to get students back in school to the extent possible.

As such, we are in the process of moving tables and non-essential furniture that can be moved relatively easily out of classrooms to create as much space as possible within classrooms so as to be able to have students and staff be six feet apart while they are in classes and during lunch.

This may also involve some other changes, including changes to some class rosters, but we are doing everything we can to work to bring students back to school on January 11th in the hybrid model and meet the six feet of social distancing requirements for classrooms from MCPH.

We will be in touch with other details as January 11th approaches, but we wanted to share this information with you so that you are aware of our plans.

Thank you for your continued support.

I also would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season!

Go Eagles!

Sincerely,

Chad Eisler, Superintendent
Madison-Plains Local School District
