Full-time In-Person Instruction
Dear MPLSD Parents and Guardians,
Good evening!  I am pleased to share with you that effective this coming Monday, March 01, 2021, the Madison-Plains Local School District (MPLSD) will be able to bring back our students in grades seven (7) through twelve (12) for full-time in-person instruction, for those who have chosen in-person learning.  We have received communication from the county health department that is allowing us to do this.  Students whose families chose option two (2), fully remote learning for second semester, will remain in remote learning, per their request.

Please know there will be some places where we are not fully able to meet the three (3) feet and six (6) feet social distancing guidelines; however, we are doing everything we can to spread everyone out as much as possible, utilize the table and desk barriers we built in every place we can, and do everything else we can to make our best effort towards keeping all of our students and staff as healthy and safe as possible.

We have had to take a close look at transportation, but we are able to make it work at this time.  Our margins are thin with regard to staffing levels, though.  If there is anyone who is interested in being a bus driver, we ask that you please call our transportation department.

Additionally, we have also learned this week that school staff members who have signed-up to receive the vaccine are tentatively scheduled to receive their second dose on Friday, March 19.  As such, we are tentatively planning a remote learning day for that day, as well.  As you know, we have a remote learning day scheduled for this Friday, February 26, so that staff can receive their first dose, and there is a remote learning day scheduled for Tuesday, March 09, for students in grades seven (7) through twelve (12) only, with the exception of the juniors who will be taking the ACT that day.

Again, I am very pleased to be able to make this call and share with you that beginning next week, Monday, March 01, 2021, we will be able to bring all of our “option one (1),” or in-person learning, students back to school five days per week.

The pandemic is not over, of course, but this is an important step as we continue to strive to move forward.  Thank you, again, for your continued support of the Madison-Plains Local School District!  It is appreciated!

Have a wonderful evening!

Go Eagles!

Chad Eisler, Superintendent
