Graduation
Dear Madison-Plains Local School District Parents and Guardians,

Good afternoon!  The purpose of this communication is to share with you information regarding graduation.

First, as the weather forecast is not looking promising for Friday’s scheduled commencement, we are going to move our commencement festivities, by one day, to Saturday, May 23, 2020.  Please know that our concern is not about a couple of light showers; rather, it is about the forecasted possibility of thunderstorms, as lightning and thunder would prohibit us from being able to conduct our planned celebration.  The same time schedule for graduation will still be followed.

Also of note, just a quick reminder that each graduate is allowed to have family with them in no more than two vehicles.  We kindly ask that you abide by this so that we can keep traffic moving in an orderly fashion.  Students and their families should report to the parking lot where the tennis courts used to be fifteen (15) minutes prior to their scheduled graduation time.  Please also note that Linson Road will be closed to traffic that is non-graduation related during the time of our celebration.

Additionally, we are happy to announce that a graduate’s parents or legal guardians are able to get out of the car to take a picture from a safe distance as the graduate walks across the stage.  In order to keep traffic moving, it will be important that neither the graduate, nor the parents or guardians who are getting out of the car to take the picture are driving.  Being able to get out of the car will allow for the parents or guardians the opportunity for the best view of their child walking across the stage.

Again, the MPHS graduation ceremony is being postponed one day from Friday, May 22, 2020, until Saturday, May 23, 2020, and will follow the same time schedule as originally planned.

Thank you!

Have a good evening!

Go Eagles!

Sincerely,

Chad Eisler, Superintendent
Madison-Plains Local School District
