1 to 1 Technology and Bus 2 Update
Dear Madison-Plains Local School District Parents and Guardians,

Good evening!  The purpose of this communication is to provide you with information about a technology initiative we are beginning and some updated morning pick-up times for bus #2.

First, with regard to our ongoing efforts to provide every student the opportunity to succeed, we are pleased to offer a one-to-one (1:1) technology initiative for Madison-Plains Junior High and Senior High School students this year to enhance the outstanding instruction these students receive in their classrooms every day.

One-to-one (1:1) technology is access for each student to an appropriate technological device in and outside of school.  Research shows that 1:1 computing increases student success, as the access to technology is an additional resource for our students and teachers.

Each student in grades 7-12 will have the opportunity to receive a Chromebook for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.  We are planning to begin distributing Chromebooks later this week.  Each student and family in grades 7-12 must fill out the MPLSD Chromebook Student Agreement on Final Forms to be eligible to receive a Chromebook.  This is also an opportunity to update and complete all Final Forms that still need updating.

We are pleased to offer our students this opportunity this year to enhance their educational experience.  Please reach out to the Junior High or Senior High School with any questions regarding this process and our 1:1 technology initiative.

Please know the 1:1 initiative is not being done because the District has an immediate plan to transition to remote learning.  We are doing everything we can to keep our doors open for in-person learning, as we want our students in school.  Though being 1:1 would help if we had to transition to remote learning, we want our students in school as much as possible.

Finally, with regard to transportation, Bus #2 will begin picking-up students ten (10) minutes earlier in the mornings, effective immediately. This change is needed due to an increase in the number of students riding the bus so that the bus can still arrive at school on time in the mornings.

Thank you!

Have a wonderful evening!

Go Eagles!
