Update - Jan. 12, 2022
Dear MPLSD Parents and Guardians,

Good evening!  The purpose of this communication is to share with you an update about school.

As you know, the pandemic numbers are on the rise again, and the effects of this are being felt in many places, including schools.  Within the last week several schools in our county have announced various types of closures.

MPLSD has been feeling the effects of this rise in cases, as well.  While “confirmed” cases are what gets reported, our numbers of “probable” and “suspected” cases have significantly increased this week, in addition to other absences.  Today in our school district, we had more than 20 staff members out, and we are projecting close to that number tomorrow.  The numbers have been high all week, and our teachers have been covering classes for each other, and students have also been in study halls.

I share this with you because I want you to be aware of what is happening from a numbers standpoint and the impact it is having on our operations.  We are at a crucial point right now, and I wanted to make sure our parents and guardians are aware of this.

This is not easy on any of us – school staff or parents and guardians.  Please know we have been fighting to keep our doors open, but I want to reiterate we are in a crucial place and may be moving towards the need to utilize some calamity days to help get our staff and students back on the road to health.

Thank you for your continued support.

I hope that you have a good evening.

Go Eagles.

Sincerely,

Chad Eisler, Superintendent
Madison-Plains Local School District
