FFA Equine Management
Something that is a core value of the FFA is “learning to do”, and just that is what the
2022 Madison-Plains FFA Equine Management team did as they competed this year in
competition. For many members this was a first time competing like this, with many members
only doing this competition in the past virtually or for some never doing this event at all.

The group of 6 girls did many competitions throughout the year, including the
Wilmington Aggies invite on Wednesday March 2nd, the Ashland Judging Invitational on
Saturday March 19th all in preparation for the State preliminary competition on Saturday March
26th.

At the competition the team placed 9th overall out of 96 teams, with the top 4 individuals
being sophmore Anna LeGault who placed 15th overall, Junior Kaitlynn Hollar who placed 50th
overall, Junior Kinsey Null who placed 71st overall, and Junior Lindsey Call who placed 152nd
out of 323 individual contestants.

This high placing was impactful to the team as the top placed teams advanced to the state
finals, something that in the history of the chapter has never happened. The team competed on
Friday April 29th at the Ohio FFA Center and State Fairgrounds.

The team competed in judging, oral reasons, and practical aplication activities. The team
placed 8th overall in the finals, with Anna LeGault placing 9th, Kaitlynn Hollar placed 19th,
Kinsey Null placed 35th and Lindsey Call placed 40th individually.

The team is excited about all of the learning opportunities that they have been able to
have within the last year and are joyfully optomistic for the years to come and for continued
growth in the career development activities within the chapter.
