March 8, 2023 Transportation Update

Dear Madison-Plains Local School District Parents and Guardians,

The purpose of this communication is to share a transportation update with you.

Bus #6 will not be able to run at least through Thursday, March 23, 2023.

As such, we will run as we have been when bus #6 has not been able to run.

In the mornings, bus #2 will pick-up the bus #6 “rural” students and bring them to school while transporting the regular bus #2 students.  For the bus #6 “in town” Midway/Sedalia students, bus #5 will be sent out to pick them up after the regular route students have been dropped-off.  That bus will depart the school at approximately 7:45 a.m. to pick-up these students.

In the afternoons, bus #2 will take the bus #6 “rural” students home immediately after school at the same time it is running its regular afternoon route.  As a result, bus #2 will run a little behind schedule.  The bus #6 “in-town” students will be transported home immediately after school by bus #5.  After the “in-town” students are dropped-off, bus #5 will head back to campus to get its regular students and take them home.  That bus may run about 20-30 minutes later than normal.

For those parents and guardians of students who ride bus #6 who are able to transport their children to school, we encourage you to do so.  Thank you for your assistance.  It is appreciated.

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support as we continue our search for more bus drivers.

Have a good evening.

Chad Eisler, Superintendent
Madison-Plains Local School District
