All juniors will be taking the ACT at school free of charge on Wednesday Feb. 20th. They will also be given a subscription to ACT Online Prep to help them prepare for the ACT. This program is also available to students at home for a period of one year.
 
National FFA Week will be Feb. 19 through Feb. 22. The events are as follows:
Tuesday the 19th – Wear your camo!
Wednesday the 20th – Wear your hat and boots!
Thursday the 21st – Wear your FFA apparel!
Friday the 22nd – Wear your flannel and twisted X’s!
Friday the 22nd (in class) – Ag Jeopardy (winner will receive a prize)
*Bake and decorate something into a farm animal anytime through the week (participants
Receive 1 credit)

 Registration for the Art Club’s first annual Jackson Pollock 5K is open! The link to the Facebook event page is: https://www.facebook.com/events/31647148995187/. The 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run and Walk will take place on the Prairie Grass Train in London on Saturday, May 11. If you aren’t interested in running but would still like to support our event, we can use lots of wonderful volunteers! Please contact Rob Carroll if you are interested.

 ASVAB scores have come in. There will be a meeting for juniors in the auditorium on February 20th during 8th period to go over results.

  There will be a Chess Tournament for “starters” and experts” on March 1, March 8, March 15, March 22, and March 29. Applications must be turned in with $5.00 to Ms. Opalla by February 28. All information is on the application.

The FFA strawberry sale will begin on Feb. 11 and run through March 4. See any FFA member to purchase your strawberries.

The 72nd Annual MP Scholastic Booster Club Auction will be held on Saturday, March 2, in the high school gym. Doors will open and silent auction will begin at 10:30am. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:00am. The live auction begins at 12:00 noon.

MISC. INFORMATION
 High School fees are $70.00 for the 2018-2019 school year. You can pay school fees online using EZ-Pay at www.mplsd.org or you can send in a check or cash to the high school office. If you would like to start making payments now you are welcome to.
 
Students driving to school must obtain a parking permit to park in the school parking lot. Pick up an application in the high school office to obtain a tag. You must be drug tested. If you have not received your parking permit your vehicle may be towed.

Attention Seniors: As soon as you have your Senior picture chosen for the yearbook, please bring a digital copy on CD to Mrs. McCafferty.

2018-2019 Yearbooks are now on sale.  April 10th will be the last day to purchase a yearbook. They can be purchased using cash, check, or online. If buying with cash or check see Mrs. McCafferty or Joseph Siler to make the purchase. There will not be any of this year’s yearbooks available for purchase next year. No overstock will be purchased so if you want one buy it now!

Any senior who is interested in purchasing a senior t-shirt please see Mrs. Groom to let her know your size. The shirts will be approximately $10.
