Congratulations Mrs. Ford!

K6 Assistant Principal

In their regular Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, the Madison-Plains Local School District (MPLSD) Board of Education approved the hiring of Meredith Ford to be the District’s next Elementary/Intermediate School assistant principal.

An educator with more than 19 years of educational experience, Ford joins the MPLSD team from the Triad Local School District, where she currently serves the staff and approximately 350 students as the kindergarten through fourth-grade literacy coach at Triad Elementary School.  While in this position, Ford has demonstrated leadership capacity by developing the Literacy Leadership Team, which has developed a three-year plan to increase literacy achievement for the students, using data to monitor student progress and adjusting instruction as needed.

In addition to her experience as a literacy coach, which she has been doing since 2016, Ford also served as a Title I reading teacher and data management coordinator, also at Triad Elementary School, from 2005 – 2016.  She has also served as a sixth- and second-grade teacher.  Additionally, Ford has taught at Urbana University, now Franklin University, as an adjunct professor, teaching courses in phonics and the diagnosis and remediation of reading difficulties.
