Monday, April 5 marked the deadline to register as a voter in order to cast a ballot in the May 4 primary election, for which absentee voting by mail and in person begins Tuesday, April 6.
County boards of elections are set to be open until 9 p.m. Monday to accept registrations.
Early, in-person voting at county boards of elections will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for three weeks, then available from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. the week of Monday, April 26; from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 1; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 2; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, May 3.
Polling sites will be open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, May 4.
For absentee voting by mail, applications must be received by the county board of elections by noon on Saturday, May 1, and ballots must be postmarked by Monday, May 3 and received by Friday, May 14 to be counted. Absentee ballots delivered directly to boards of elections by voters must be received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
