Dear MPLSD Parents and Guardians,
Good evening! The purpose of this communication is to share some important news.
In light of the authority of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service office (FNS) is granting an extension of summer meal programs for students.
As such, beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9th, 2020, all Madison-Plains Local School District students will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge, regardless of household income. The office of Food and Nutrition Service is planning to have this program be in effect until December 31, 2020, or until federal program funds are depleted. Please note this only applies to the regular school breakfast and lunch meals. The program does not extend to additional ala carte offerings that may be available for purchase.
Again, the extension of this program is scheduled to go through December 31, 2020, or until federal program funds are depleted. Therefore, regular school breakfast and lunch prices will resume once federal program funds are depleted, or when students return to school in January 2021, whichever occurs first.
Thank you!
Have a wonderful evening!
Go Eagles!
Chad Eisler, Superintendent
Madison-Plains Local School District
