Pay to play/Parent Meeting

As part of the MP approved budget reduction plan, the district is implementing a pay to participate fee this year for athletics and band.  The fee is $100 per season per sport/activity with a per season max of $200 per family, and a per-year maximum of $600 per family. 
The due date for the spring pay to participate fee is March 21, 2019.  Check may be written to Madison Plains Local Schools.  Please be aware that no refunds will be given.  Students who are on free/reduced lunch are exempt from payment.
Spring sports pictures are scheduled for March 21, right after school.  Easch coach has been given his or her designated picture time.
In addition, there will be a mandatory OHSAA parent meeting for spring sports starting at 5pm in the auditorium. 

Physicals by Dr. Smith

Physicals by Dr. Smith
Dr. Eric Smith with be doing physicals for sports and band here at Madison-Plains High School in the gym on:  May 14 from 3-6pm and on July 30 from 4-6pm.  
The costs for a physical is $10, checks can be made payable to Dr. Smith.  Physicals forms can be found on the athletic page under forms or can be picked up in the jr. high/high school office.  Forms must be completely filled out and signed by a parent if the parent isn't going to be present at the physical exam.

Cheerleading Open Gym

Interested in being part of the MP cheerleading program and want to work on skills?  The MPHS cheerleading coach will be hosting a workshop to work on motions, jumps, voice and conditioning in the High School Gym.  
When:  3/16 from 10-12pm
              3/30 from 10-12pm
              4/13 from 10-12pm

The purpose of this message is to share a few important announcements about this weekend and this coming week!First, I would like to invite everyone to the Madison-Plains Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony and Banquet tomorrow evening, Saturday, February 2nd, in the Madison-Plains High School gymnasium.  Dinner will be at 6:00 p.m.  The ceremony and banquet will be honoring LeRoy Simpson; Clark Mace; Donna Gray Long; the 1988 4X800 meter relay team of Andy Crawford, Scott Elam, Todd Engle, and Chris Smith; and the 1960 Madison South High School football team!  Tickets are available at the door and are $10 each.

School Closing, Athletics, Special Board Meeting

Dear Madison-Plains Parents, Guardians, and Staff Members,

Good afternoon! Tomorrow, Thursday, January 31st, 2019, Madison-Plains Local Schools will be closed due to the frigid and bitterly cold wind chills. All athletic practices and events for tomorrow are cancelled, as well. The special Board of Education meeting that is planned for tomorrow, Thursday, January 31st, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., will go on as scheduled. The purpose of that meeting is to adopt one policy and then go into executive session for the purpose of preparing for our upcoming negotiations.

Military Night

Military Night

Madison-Plains Athletics is happy to participate in a statewide Military Appreciation Night on Friday, January 18th at our High School Boys Basketball game where the Golden Eagles will take on the Northeastern Jets. Any past or present military person will receive free entry into the game for the evening and will be recognized during half time of the varsity game.
Please come and join us in honoring all those who have served or are serving our great country. Freshmen will start at 4:45pm, JV at approximately 6pm, and Varsity at approximately 7:30pm.

OHSAA Physicals, Emergency Medical Forms and Insurance Forms

All student-athletes must have completed the OHSAA Physical Exam Form. Click here to download the OHSAA Physical Exam form. In addition to the physical form, every student-athlete must have an Emergency Medical Form and Insurance Form on file. All forms need to be filed in the Athletic Office prior to the sports mandatory practices. A copy will be kept with the athletic trainer and coaches.

The primary goal of MPHS Hall of Fame is to recognize those indivduals/teams that have made a significant contribution to the athletic program during their time at MPHS. If you would like to nominate someone for the Hall of Fame, print off the criteria/nomination form, fill it out and turn it in to the Athletic Department. The criteria/nomination forms can be found under athletic forms link.
