April 23, 2023 Transportation Update

Dear Madison-Plains Local School District Parents and Guardians,

The purpose of this communication is to share an update on transportation.

Bus #9 continues to not be able to run. In an effort to transport as effectively and as efficiently as possible, the current plan is to have bus #6 run bus #9’s route in the mornings at its regular time. Additionally, bus #6 will pick up the in-town Midway-Sedalia students, with the exception of those who are picked up at Sedalia Church of Christ in Christian Union, while it is on its way to the school, which will be around 7:15a.m. The in-town Midway/Sedalia students who are picked up at the Church will be picked up at approximately 7:15 a.m. by multiple busses to get them to school on time, as we have done in the past.

In the afternoon bus #9 students will have to stay after school for approximately 30 minutes to wait for bus #6. Bus #6 will pick up the in-town Midway/Sedalia students at the 7-12 building and then at the K-6 building at 2:30 p.m. and take them home. Bus #6 will then return to the school to get the bus #9 students at around 3:15 p.m. or 3:20 p.m. and take them home.
Bus #6 rural students will be picked up and dropped off by bus #2 as it runs its regular route, as we have done in the past, in both the mornings and afternoons.

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes. We are working to transport as effectively and as efficiently as we can.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support.

Have a good evening.
Chad Eisler, Superintendent
Madison-Plains Local School District
