Dear Madison-Plains Local School District Parents and Guardians,
Good afternoon! The purpose of this communication is to provide you with a calendar update for our families with children in kindergarten through 3rd-grade that allows our students in those grades to start winter break and summer vacation a little early.
Later this month, our students who are in kindergarten through 3rd-grade are going to get to start winter break two (2) days early. This is because our teachers in those grades will be in state required professional development. The training they are receiving is extensive, and our teachers cannot complete it within the other professional development time that is allotted for them.
As a result, our students in kindergarten through 3rd-grade will not have school on Monday, December 19, and Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
Additionally, at the end of the school year, students in grades K-3 will start summer vacation one (1) day early. Our K-3 teachers will again be in state required training on Thursday, May 25, 2023, so our students in grades kindergarten through 3rd-grade will not have school that day, either.
Again, this calendar update is only for students in kindergarten through 3rd-grade.
