Safe Return to In-Person Instruction

Dear Staff, Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Greetings!  I hope this finds you well and enjoying summer!

Attached to this communication is MPLSD’s “Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan.”  This document supplements the other materials that we have posted on our District website regarding our continuing work in educating the children of the communities we serve and our return to school in the fall.
This plan is being shared to be able to gather input from our staff, parents, guardians, and students.  If you would like to provide input regarding the plan, you may do so by sending an e-mail to the following e-mail address:  [email protected]

We will gather the input and consider it as we continue to prepare for the coming school year.  Further, this plan will be reviewed every six months.  As such, we intend to review it in late November or early December.

Enjoy the summer, and we hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!

Junior High/High School Assistant Principal Hired

The Madison-Plains Local School District (MPLSD) continued making headway in its work to fill vacant positions on Thursday evening, June 24, at a special Board of Education meeting.  Hiring was the main focus of the meeting, as the Board took action on several positions within the school district, but a few other items of business were also part of the meeting.

The District made one administrative hire at the meeting, that being Mr. Thomas Dinuoscio for the position of assistant principal for the junior/senior high school.  Dinuoscio joins the district after having been at Northeastern Local Schools for the last six years, where he has served as the instrumental music director at Northeastern High/Middle School, as well as South Vienna Elementary School.  Prior to his time at Northeastern, Dinuoscio taught at Springfield City for a year.  He also taught at Mt. Gilead and Cardington Lincoln.

The Madison-Plains Local School District (MPLSD) held their regularly scheduled board of education meeting on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.  Along with numerous other items, the district hired a number of new staff members for the coming academic year.  Of particular note, the district hired two new administrators.  Newly hired are Mr. Kyle Huffman, who will serve the district as its junior high/senior high school principal, and Mr. Matthew Welsh, who will serve as the district’s athletic director.

Huffman joins the MPLSD team with sixteen years of experience as the high school principal at Triad Local Schools.  Prior to serving as a principal, he was a social studies teacher, also at Triad, for seven years.   MPLSD Superintendent Chad Eisler said, “We are excited to have Mr. Huffman join our team.  He is a veteran administrator, and his knowledge and experience in leading a building will be a benefit to our staff and our students.  He is a student-centered and compassionate leader who puts the needs of the students at the center of his decisions.”
