Dear MPLSD Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
The purpose of this communication is to provide information on a matter that occurred on a bus today.
On the bus ride home this afternoon, a student found a magazine for a weapon under a seat on a bus. The student gave the magazine to the bus driver. The bus driver took possession and pulled over to report the matter. Our school resource officer (SRO) went to the scene to assist and begin investigating. All of the students and staff are safe. Students were being picked-up where the bus pulled over to report the issue. No weapon was found.
The safety and welfare of our students and staff is our top priority. We will continue our investigation into this situation.
