COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at MPHS

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at MPHS

Dear MPHS Parents and Guardians,

The purpose of this communication is to share with you information regarding a student COVID-19 vaccine clinic at MPHS.

As you have likely heard, schools are being encouraged to work with their local health department to provide opportunities for students who are age 16 and up to receive the Pfizer COVID vaccine, for those students who are interested and whose parents or guardians provide consent.

MPHS will be providing this opportunity for interested students.  The date students will be receiving their first dose of the vaccine will be on Friday, April 30, 2021, during the school day.  Second doses of Pfizer are recommended to be received three (3) weeks later, and so the second vaccine clinic for students to receive their second dose will be on Friday, May 21, 2021, also during the school day.

Graduation, Prom, and Levy

Graduation, Prom, and Levy

Dear MPLSD Parents, Guardians, and Staff Members,

Greetings!  I hope this finds you well!

The purpose of this communication is to share some information with you about some upcoming events.

First, school districts across the state received guidance this week from the Governor’s office and the Ohio Department of Health regarding graduations and proms.  In light of that, we are continuing to move forward with our plans for these events.

MPHS will have commencement exercises on Friday evening, May 28, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.  We are planning to host graduation in the stadium, weather permitting, in order that our graduates can have more family members in attendance.  In the event of inclement weather, graduation will be moved indoors to the high school gymnasium.  Because safety protocols will still be in place, graduates will be able to have ten (10) family members if the ceremony is outdoors, and four (4) family members in attendance if it is indoors.  A decision on the specific location, based upon the weather, will be made on Thursday, May 27, 2021, by noon.  More information will be shared in the near future.

Full-time In-Person Instruction

Full-time In-Person Instruction

Dear MPLSD Parents and Guardians,
Good evening!  I am pleased to share with you that effective this coming Monday, March 01, 2021, the Madison-Plains Local School District (MPLSD) will be able to bring back our students in grades seven (7) through twelve (12) for full-time in-person instruction, for those who have chosen in-person learning.  We have received communication from the county health department that is allowing us to do this.  Students whose families chose option two (2), fully remote learning for second semester, will remain in remote learning, per their request.

Please know there will be some places where we are not fully able to meet the three (3) feet and six (6) feet social distancing guidelines; however, we are doing everything we can to spread everyone out as much as possible, utilize the table and desk barriers we built in every place we can, and do everything else we can to make our best effort towards keeping all of our students and staff as healthy and safe as possible.
