Good evening! The purpose of this message is to share two pieces of information.
First, I wanted to let our families know that we currently have four (4) active cases of Hand-Foot-and-Mouth disease at the K-6 building. Please know we are spraying disinfectant in classrooms each evening, and our teachers are wiping down desks and chairs regularly. We have been in contact with the Madison County Public Health Department, and the recommended controls are focused on good hand hygiene, teaching children to cover their noses and mouths with a tissue or their arm when sneezing or coughing, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth, and increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of high touch surfaces in the school and at home. Again, we are actively working to disinfect classrooms and high-touch surfaces, such as desks and chairs. We hope everyone who is feeling under-the-weather feels better soon!
Secondly, just a quick, friendly calendar reminder that this coming Wednesday, September 30, 2026, is a scheduled two-hour late arrival day for MP students so that our teachers can engage in professional development.
